Job Description
  • Master Production Planning: Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on strategic stock plans, customer orders, and sales forecasts.Assign production to facilities based on location, cost considerations, and inventory/production levels to ensure efficient delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Customer Support, Sales, Engineering, and production facilities, to align production capabilities, quality control standards, and delivery requirements.Collaborate with Customer Support to address customer demand shifts and maintain high levels of service.Work closely with the Plant Operations Manager to track and verify inventory accuracy, facilitating weekly updates on stock levels.Work with Engineering to verify Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy, enhancing scheduling and cost management.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze production data, market trends, and forecasts to support proactive inventory planning and cost reduction strategies.Monitor inventory performance metrics and optimize production scheduling based on demand forecasts to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
  • ERP and Planning Software Expertise: Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced planning tools for efficient supply chain management, with a particular focus on BOM accuracy and MRP reporting.Leverage Microsoft Excel and ERP software for detailed data analysis and reporting.
  • Inventory & Cost Management: Manage plant transfers of finished goods to ensure an adequate supply at facilities without direct production capabilities.Understand Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and the cost structure of finished goods, ensuring BOM accuracy before scheduling production within SAP.
  • Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization: Apply Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies to streamline the production schedule and improve inventory accuracy.Actively participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to foster continuous improvement in supply chain processes and address potential bottlenecks.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare and distribute monthly production reports, summarizing production activities, inventory levels, and variances in demand.Develop additional reports for management and other internal stakeholders, supporting data-driven insights for supply chain improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate the submittal process for products requiring agency approvals, tracking requests and approvals to provide accurate ship dates for state-approved materials.
